Advanced Endsocopy Center

In February of 2005, The Advanced Endoscopy Center opened. This is conveniently located in Creve Coeur, Missouri with easy access to major highways. This is a state-of-the-art facility for endoscopic procedures of the gastrointestinal tract. The facility was designed to comply with the rigorous Missouri State regulations for ambulatory surgery centers and complies with regulations and standards established for procedures performed in the hospital. Anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) from Washington University are involved in the sedation process to reduce any discomfort from the procedure and insure safety. Carbon dioxide is used to inflate the stomach or colon during the endoscopic procedure. This is an inert gas that is quickly eliminated by the body lessening the feeling of bloating and discomfort that might be felt after some procedures. This is the only facility in the St. Louis area where this technique is used.
